The Marshall Project is a big one for me. It highlights just how complete an abuser's control over the abused spouse/significant other can become. The other child was being held as a hostage, at first, physically, then psychologically, while Kristina gave her false confession. (psychologically, as Kristina didn't know if J.W., the brother, would be out of reach of the abuser or not)

A person doesn't always understand why the abused person doesn't escape the abuser, but there are abusers that have become expert at keeping such levels of control that a normal human being would be very stymied at any thought of attempts, and the consequences of any failed attempts.

He did do it. He has done it several times to his children, his dad did it to him and his dad was and is a drug addict. I was best friends with his ex Elsie and saw him man handle his first child with her! That's why he and his now gf skipped town and moved all the way to Indiana to live with her family there. They have a child together in Indiana. From what I heard he is still the same person. He treats his gf like shit in Indiana too.

Yes, my father performed CPR on my from the moment he was found until the first responders arrived on the scene. It's been 9 years since that event and there isn't a day that goes by that my dad doesn't think about that moment. He was a CPR instructor and a firefighter.
